Club History
Founded 1957 — Legendary Shooters of the Gauges.
The Grand Blanc Huntsman’s Club (GBHC) was founded in 1957 to promote and encourage fellowship between members and families, providing facilities for shooting-sports instruction and the safe use of all lawful firearms. For our facility we request 7.5, 8, or 9 lead-shot target loads (NO HUNTING LOADS) with 3 drams or less powder. Yes — we sell shells: .410, 28 Ga, 20 Ga, 16 Ga, and 12 Ga.
Our facilities include four Skeet fields — 2 with Trap and Wobble Trap, and 1 with an 8-machine Sporting Clays training station. A heated, raised, enclosed Five-Stand with 8 tournament-grade machines (increased to 16 during winter months). A fourteen-station Sporting Clays course (A & B Intermediate, C & D Advanced — 56 machines total), a seven-station Upland course (A & B — 14 machines total), and a Bonus Station 15 with 4 to 8 difficult targets.
Members who have completed our Range Safety Course gain access to the private members-only pistol and rifle ranges at 25 feet, 25 yards, 50 yards, and 100 yards — including a metal spinner target for PCP air rifles and rimfire .22s. Range rules: no prone shooting, no draw-fire, no off-hand shooting, and no .50-caliber centerfire or larger (muzzleloaders above .50 cal are OK). Shotguns on the pistol/rifle range may use slugs only. Amenities include cart rentals, a heated warming shed, clubhouse, and an enclosed pavilion with picnic tables and BBQ grills.
Membership
Our annual membership is $150, pro-rated August to August — about $13 a month! Membership includes spouses and all family members under nineteen years of age. Rifle and pistol ranges are members-only after safety-course completion; the certification class is offered only one day every few months. All other shotgun courses are open to members and the public unless otherwise specified due to registered competitions.
